Sofwave in BangkokDoctor-Led Sofwave at Privato Clinic

Softwave Bangkok offers a doctor-led, non-surgical skin-lifting program using Sofwave™ SUPERB™ parallel-beam ultrasound. Seven beams deliver controlled warmth into the mid-dermis while the skin surface is actively cooled — to help the brow, jawline and neck appear firmer. Every plan begins with a personal doctor assessment.

Non-surgical · Temporary redness or swelling can occur · Individual results vary and are assessed case by case

Clear expectations

The doctor explains what Sofwave can realistically achieve before you decide.

What is Sofwave

Seven beams, one precise layer, a cooler surface

Sofwave uses SUPERB™ — Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam technology. Warmth is delivered to the mid-dermis at a consistent depth, helping skin look firmer and smoother over time — without surgery.

01 Energy

SUPERB™ · Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam

Seven beams. One synchronised pulse.

Seven ultrasound transducers in the applicator fire at the same time. Each pulse creates a row of cylindrical thermal zones parallel to the skin surface, with untreated tissue left between them. The glowing columns are a visual guide, not a measured energy map.

02 Depth

A fixed 1.5 mm target

One precise layer. Not simply deeper.

Energy is directed to a fixed depth of about 1.5 mm — the mid-dermis, where collagen and elastin fibres sit — with the thermal effect localised between about 0.5 and 2 mm. Because the applicator sets the depth, no imaging-guided depth selection is required.

03 Cooling

Sofcool™ integrated cooling

Warmth within. Cooling at the surface.

Integrated real-time surface cooling (Sofcool™) helps protect the epidermis and support comfort throughout each pulse, while skin temperature is monitored. The turquoise layer represents that cooling; it does not mean the treatment is painless.

04 Response

A response that develops over time

Supporting new collagen and elastin.

Over the following weeks the skin's natural remodelling response may help it appear firmer, with fine lines looking softer. Clinical studies have reported visible lower-face improvement from about one month, and denser elastic fibres with reorganised collagen in the mid-dermis on biopsy.23

  • 7

    Seven parallel transducers

The SUPERB™ applicator fires seven ultrasound transducers at once, so each pulse treats a strip of skin rather than a single point.

  • 60–70 °C

    Controlled thermal zones

Sofwave reports heating the mid-dermis to 60–70 °C for 4–5 seconds on each pulse, in cylindrical zones with untreated tissue between them.

  • 30–45 min

    A full-face session

Sofwave reports about 30–45 minutes for a full face. A topical numbing cream may be applied first if the doctor recommends it.

  • 3 mo

    Results build gradually

Clinical studies assessed results at three months. The skin’s response develops over weeks, and individual results vary.

In the United States, the SofWave System is FDA-cleared as a non-invasive treatment to improve facial lines and wrinkles, lift the eyebrow, and lift lax submental (beneath the chin) and neck tissue in adults aged 22 and over.1 Contact the clinic for the Sofwave device’s Thai FDA registration details.

Clinical Evidence

What the studies measured

Two published analyses of the US pivotal trial measured brow and under-chin lift on standardised photographs, 12 weeks after a single treatment.4 These are study results, not Softwave Bangkok client outcomes — individual results vary.

Eyebrow · 32 adults · 12 weeks

1.4mm

Mean rise in eyebrow height after one treatment5

  • All 32 participants had a lift above the 0.5 mm measurement threshold in at least one brow
  • 91% were rated improved or very much improved by the physician investigators
Under-chin · 35 adults · 12 weeks

77%

Had a measurable under-chin lift above the 20 mm² clinical threshold6

  • Mean measured lift of 89.2 mm² in the under-chin area
  • 71% of participants felt their neck had improved
Safety · both analyses

0

Device-related adverse events reported during the study period56

  • Only expected, temporary effects: redness and swelling
  • No cases of significant pain, tenderness, pigmentation change, erosion, ulceration or bruising

Device facts: 7 parallel transducers firing in one pulse · 10–12 MHz · 1–5 J per pulse · thermal zones centred at 1.5 mm and kept within 0.5–2 mm of the surface · 25 × 4.5 mm treatment footprint. Source: Sofwave Medical device specifications and the studies above.6

Your Sofwave Process

From first consult to follow-up

A full-face session usually takes 30–45 minutes, with the full visit around an hour. Results develop gradually rather than instantly, and vary from person to person.

The doctor reviews how your skin has responded and advises whether another session or future maintenance suits your goals. Contact the clinic at any time if a reaction does not settle as expected.

Is Sofwave Right for You?

Suitability comes before treatment

Sofwave suits certain skin conditions and goals better than others. The doctor confirms whether it's right for you during your consultation.

Sofwave may suit you if you…

  • Have mild to moderate skin laxity you'd like to address
  • Want a lifted-looking brow, or a firmer jawline, under-chin or neck
  • Want to soften fine lines and improve skin quality alongside lifting
  • Are concerned about the discomfort of some lifting devices
  • Prefer a non-surgical option that fits around daily life

Please consult the doctor first if you…

  • Have a pacemaker or implanted electronic device
  • Have metal implants or fillers in the treatment area
  • Have active infection, open wounds or active skin disease in the area
  • Recently had injectables or thread lifting in the same area and haven't completed the recommended interval
  • Expect surgical-facelift-level results from a single session — Sofwave is not a substitute for surgery

Client Experiences

Experiences shared by our clients

From the first consultation to follow-up — these are the moments clients chose to share about their Sofwave program.

Linet pictured at Privato Clinic for her Sofwave treatment review.

I was concerned about a less defined jawline and skin that felt less firm. Sofwave felt like a good fit for what I wanted, and I didn’t find the treatment painful. I chose Privato Clinic because I was impressed by the service and felt I could trust the doctor and the technology.

Even with a good skincare routine, firmness and wrinkles can still be concerns. After trying Sofwave, my skin felt firmer, and I appreciated how carefully the doctor worked on the areas that bothered me. In my experience, the treatment wasn’t painful, and I had no redness or swelling afterward. I didn’t need any downtime.

My main concerns were my jawline and the area under my chin. I wanted a lift without losing the fullness of my cheeks. The session felt quick, and I didn’t feel pain or a snapping sensation on my skin. I was impressed by both Sofwave and the care at Privato Clinic, and I’d happily come back for another session.

I appreciated the doctor’s detailed assessment before my Sofwave session at Privato Clinic. Our conversation helped me understand the treatment much better. I used to think skin firming was something I could leave until later, but now Sofwave is a treatment I’d like to come back to as part of my maintenance routine.

Nut pictured at Privato Clinic for her Sofwave treatment review.

I was concerned about the texture and firmness of my cheeks. During my first Sofwave session, the sensation felt more like deep warmth under the skin than a needle-like pain. I found it comfortable, and appreciated being able to address both texture and firmness in one session.

Questions, Answered Plainly

Sofwave in Bangkok — frequently asked

Can't find your answer? Our team replies on LINE within clinic hours.

Does Sofwave hurt?
Most clients describe brief deep warmth with each pulse rather than sharp pain. Integrated Sofcool™ cooling protects the skin surface throughout the session, and comfort is monitored — stronger pain does not mean a better result.
When will I see results, and how long do they last?
Changes may begin during the first month and become easier to assess at 1–3 months. How long results last — and whether another session or future maintenance is suitable — varies by skin condition, age, lifestyle and treatment plan. The doctor reviews this with you at follow-up.
How many Sofwave sessions will I need?
Many people are treated in a single session. Depending on how your skin responds, the doctor may suggest a further session or periodic maintenance — this is decided together at your 1–3 month follow-up, not sold in advance.
Is there any downtime?
Many clients return to daily life the same day, although temporary redness, swelling, warmth or tenderness can occur. Contact the clinic if reactions do not settle as expected. We recommend regular moisturiser and daily sunscreen afterwards.
How is Sofwave different from Ultherapy or Thermage?
Sofwave and Ultherapy both use ultrasound, but Sofwave delivers seven parallel beams to a fixed mid-dermis depth (about 1.5 mm) with integrated cooling, while Ultherapy uses micro-focused ultrasound with imaging at several depths. Thermage FLX uses monopolar radiofrequency instead of ultrasound. No single device is best for every case — the right choice depends on your target skin layers and the doctor's assessment.
Is Sofwave the same as HIFU?
No. Both use ultrasound, but HIFU focuses energy to single points, often at deeper layers such as 3.0 mm or 4.5 mm using different cartridges. Sofwave uses seven parallel beams at a fixed depth of about 1.5 mm in the mid-dermis, with integrated Sofcool™ surface cooling. The doctor will explain which approach suits your skin and goals.
Who should avoid Sofwave or consult first?
Anyone with a pacemaker or implanted electronics, metal implants or fillers in the treatment area, active infection or skin disease in the area, or recent injectables or thread lifting in the same zone should inform the doctor first so safety can be assessed properly.
How much does Sofwave cost in Bangkok?
The price depends on the treatment area, pulse count and any current packages, so the exact quotation is confirmed after the doctor's assessment. Contact the clinic on LINE for current pricing.
